GoTW :: Gripe of the Week #3
by Sunfyre on Sep.29, 2009, under Gripe of the Week
Have you ever felt like you’re being punished for keeping a gemmed, enchanted, well geared resto set? We’ve had a high turnover of healers lately, especially resto druids, but after a few weeks of being sent resto, it gets old. Have you ever noticed people don’t expect feral druids, enhancement shaman, or retribution paladins to keep a resto/holy set? It seems like the only classes who really ever get shoved into it are balance druids and shadow priests. I rarely (if ever) even see our elemental shaman spec resto. Sometimes I consider just destroying my resto gear. Are any of the rest of you in this same situation?
Shameless Plug: Forceful Entry recruiting Restoration Druids
by Sunfyre on Sep.20, 2009, under General
This is a shameless plug, but in effort to allow me to actually DPS, I’m going to give it a try (and hope some resto druids actually read this blog)! Forceful Entry is recruiting a restoration druid. We’re looking for those with 9/9 Ulduar HM experience, as well as Algalon, and ToC Heroics. If you’re interested, please check out http://www.forcefulguild.com.
Heroic Val’kyr twins down
by Sunfyre on Sep.09, 2009, under General
Forceful Entry killed Heroic Val’kyr twins today. I really can’t comment much about a balance druid perspective, as I spec resto for it to help heal, but it’s a fun fight.
Heroic Val’kyr twins is like a giant dodgeball match. We tanked twins slightly off-center near a white portal, with all of our DPS and three healers dark in the center. Our ranged and healers played dodgeball, with ranged DPS picking up stray black orbs from hitting healers, and healers absorbed white orbs that would hit melee. The specials rotate between the two twins, ping-ponging back and forth. They seem to be like Freya HM’s specials, in that they will cycle through all before they repeat. Melee held [Dark Essence] unless Fjola Lightbane casted [Light Vortex] , and they switched to [Light Essence] briefly. If Eydis Darkbane used [Dark Vortex] special, the melee would swap to [Light Essence] she cast her next special, knowing it would be [Twin's Pact] next. The key to this fight is maximizing DPS during the pacts, and near flawless dodgeball execution. Having one clear voice call out what’s incoming and what color to be helps to clear confusion.
Paragon has a great video of their Heroic Twins kill:
