Servers will be going down for maintenance today, and Plagueworks should be unlocked when it returns. We’re going in with both our 25man groups and will be clearing it. I’ll post a small blurb about it shortly, as well as another brief synopsis (read: NOT A FULL BOSSKILLERS STRAT) on the Gunsnor..Gunship battle.
We don’t really have two fulltime raiding 25 man groups, however for non-heroic content we intermix a lot of alts in with the mains, to keep them geared up as well in case we need certain classes/builds for certain fights.
Stay tuned for more!
It’s been a quiet two weeks due to the holiday, but in case you forgot, the next wing of Icecrown, Plagueworks, is released this week. This will unlock Rotface, Festergut, and Professor Putricide. Unfortuntately, the only 25man piece of loot of any interest, really, is the [item]50026[/item], off Rotface. There’s a few other leather pieces, but they’re itemized with haste, and the [item]50353[/item] is not impressive.
On the 10man side, there is [item]50985[/item], off Festergut, and [item]51009[/item] off Rotface.
Not really a lot of loot for us out of Plagueworks. I’m still trying to get the spyglass and the bonespike. The spyglass only seems to drop when I’m running on my hunter, and I keep losing the bonespike to resto druids who haven’t read the 3.3 patch notes.
How is your progression going? Are you ready for Plagueworks?
I’m a few days late on this, but I’ve been pretty busy as of late. There were a few minor tweaks to Icecrown Citadel:
- Muradin and Saurfang will no longer gain stacks of Battlefury from totems. Additionally, the duration of Battlefury has also been reduced.
- Lord Marrowgar is now tauntable.
- Deathbringer Saurfang’s Rune of Blood has been modified to heal 10 times the amount of damage dealt instead of 5 times the damage. This will make the encounter more difficult if you try to tank Saurfang with just one character. The tooltip does not reflect this change, but it will in a future patch.
They’ve also made some changes to the older heroics, that triggered events at certain health levels (such as Ionar, Tharon’ja, etc), to only trigger once per fight. It was pretty silly with the levels of DPS that exist now, where you’d push them into event after event.
The changes to Marrowgar should help save the morons who can’t control their threat after the agro drop, after the bone storm. Besides that, shouldn’t be a big deal. The changes to Battlefury will nerf the Gunship battle a bit, and make it easier for tanking. The biggest change I think is the buff to the Saurfang encounter. I know some people have struggled since the hotfix.
The latest version of Squawk and Awe seems to work properly, although I’m not sure if it’s due to them fixing the bug, or SAA being re-written. I updated mine from Curse.
Am I the only one who hates having to go resto to a) get a nearly instant queue for random dungeons (vice 5-10 minutes as DPS), as well as b) ensure that you have a competent healer so the run goes by decently? I managed to buy the 3rd piece of Tier 9.45 today, and I forgot I had a piece of 9.32, so I have the 4pc bonus, but I’m trying to grind for a fourth 9.45 piece. I’ll post some details about the raids and my impressions of the fights and changes to balance druid after this Tuesday, when I have enough experience to get some good data.
I’m still running 2pc/2pc, as I don’t have enough badges to buy the 4pc yet, and I must say the changes aren’t as bad as I expected. I only had a few minutes to run with a pug 25man in ToC (please shoot me), so it really wasn’t the best medium to determine how I’m doing. I missed raiding this week thanks to being stuck in Philadelphia last night as my flight to Chicago was canceled due to weather.
Patch 3.3 is officially confirmed today. I was personally hoping they’d wait another week, as I will be spending today flying back home, and unable to play. I’ll try to keep monitoring the sites and keep you posted of any breaking changes as I can during the day.
Thanks to Lissanna’s post at Restokin, a bug has been noted in 3.3. Essentially, Eclipse does not trigger the SPELL_AURA_APPLIED flag, so addons which track it do not work. An addon called Class Timer / Class Timer Eclipse has the ability to track the Eclipse buff and it’s internal cooldown. I suggest you download it from Curse and install it before 3.3 lands.
