Question of the Week: 4.1

What would you like to see fixed/balanced/changed in 4.1? Obviously, we’d all like huge laser beams that shoot from our eyes and oneshot everything. But sound off about you think the needed balancing that we need to keep us competitive. (I expect to hear a lot from you PVPers!)

Sunfyre: When you hit 0 energy, in 5.1, you'd go to 20 energy. + 40 energy from one cast to 60 energy, + 40 energy from cast #2, that's 100 energy. Now you go from 0 energy to 40 energy. Cast #1 brings you to 80. Cast #2 is still required, and it brings you to 100 energy (which is really 120 but you get nothing for that extra energy). The amount of casts did not change. 2.
gore: Wait, what you just said doesn't make sense. What makes us go straight to 20 energy? With SotF it takes 2 casts to reach lunar. 2 casts to reach solar. Without SotF it takes 3, correct me if i'm wrong.
S: Sorry, I don't understand where your getting the 20 from, 100 80 60 40 20 0 40 80 100 or sotf 100 80 60 40 20 0 (40 sf + 40 sotf) 80 120 ??
Madnz: Hi sunfyre, how would you say the 4p t15 will be with SoTF? Does that also maybe make mastery more valuable?
Sunfyre: You already go 20-Lunar, 60, 100. Going 40-80-100(120) is the same amount of casts to hit 100.
Cohumulone: Hey Sunfyre. I'm trying to wrap my head around what you've been saying about SotF. How exactly does it not reduce Starfire casts by 1?
Braeden: Started a Druid....3 days ago or something like that.... Anyways i got to lvl 60 and im not using gear SETS so much as im using the things that look especially helpful such as Int and Spir Stacke, Occasionally with some 14-15 haste involved..... Im not one of those guys who go out and get the best pve/pvp gear But i really need some help..... im a resto balance mix and well my hits are only doing about 5K at lvl 60 :/ what sohuld i do?
Sunfyre: SoTF wasn't much of a buff. It didn't reduce starfire casts to lunar, and only reduced wrath casts by potentially one. I'd stick with incarnation.

Well, I kinda wish my heals were better, a warrior can heal better than me. Sucks when trying to heal myself up when soling or in PvP. Heals are so weak as moonkin, guess they’re meant to be like that. Besides that I’m pretty happy with moonkin in PvP, or wait.. I want the instant root back! Miss it so much

Make instant roots a passive. And make owlkin frenzy heal us like frenzied regeneration

I’d like to hope they’d buff our healing abilities and give us some sort of dot coverage for PvP and instant roots! and maybe make solar beam off gcd >.>

I’d like to see a ranged interrupt that isn’t on a GCD. And mabbe some survivability in pvp but that seems to have all gone to the mage.

Euphoria procs >35 energy
Glyph/Talent to remove reticule from either shrooms, treants, or both.
Better crit scaling, period. It’s not that I don’t like the easy stat decisions, but I think it really simplifies reforging too much.
I’m sure there are other things, but that’s what is bugging me now.

Glyph or talent to make treants a pet, or at least take away the need to target their spawn point when summoned.
Would also like the ability to place mushrooms under the current target without the need to manually target the area. If no target is present, then you have to manually target.

I’d like 4 things…
1. Instant roots
2. Better healing/survivability
3. To make it so that every time you get a shooting stars proc you will add the knockdown effect they took away
4. Whenever insect swarm is dispelled the dispeller is disorientated or stunned for 3 seconds – (something to do with locust stunning them or something)

Ill keep checking back here for changes, but after mar 6, I am out. Hopefully some cool changes will come to be. I need a break. It seems a Rift has opened up between my love for WoW and I. lol

I’d like a new graphic for Typhoon and Hurricane. The former because it looks stupid for the name, when it even bothers to show up, the latter because it’s just way old and outdated.(The storms the mobs just south of Nethergarde conjure look sweet)
As for gameplay, Treants cast on target instead of ground(because that makes no sense anyway) and a way to spread DoTs for AoE.

Loving a lot of the changes to AoE etc, but one thing that annoys me is get taken out in arena too fast. I’m not the best arena player but can hold my own in a battleground where I’m left to do my thing and often coming out on top with dps, but I still manage to taken out very easily by pretty much any melee class.
What I thought would be awesome was some kinda defensive cooldown like iceblock, but instead the moonkin puffs up their feathers into a ball or something like that reducing/nullifying all damage taken.

Druids
* Cyclone duration has been reduced to 5 seconds, down from 6.
* Lifebloom’s bloom effect has been reduced by 20%. In addition, it now costs 11% of base mana, up from 7%.
* Stampeding Roar’s duration has been increased to 8 seconds, up from 6. The movement speed effect has been increased to 60%, up from 40%.
* Talent Specializations
o Balance
+ Starsurge damage has been reduced by 20%.

Well, certainly not the changes they put in…
As recently as over the weekend I too was wishing the starsurge had an interrupt and a stun, just like impact. Instead, (at current iteration) it becomes worse. *sigh*
I think an iceblock-like cd would be cool, and the lack of having to ground target Treants would be amazing!
For PVE, I want an aggro-dump, I’m sick of standing there doing nothing and waiting for aggro to go down but having dots keep it up.
And our healing is going the opposite of what everyone wished for.
I can survive in bgs, but in arena if there’re 1 or 2 melee I’m dead in seconds, even with entangling roots.
I don’t really understand how devs could’ve been under the impression that we needed to be nerfed.

I have a few things I’d like to see improved:
1) Eclipse proc’ing as soon as the spell lands which pushes energy to 100, and not .2 – .4 seconds after. This results in a very slight delay in casting that instant Starsurge, or waiting to cast IS so that NG can come up. “Always be casting” doesn’t apply to boomkins at this point.
2) Nature’s Grace proc’ing sooner(follows from point 1 above).
3) Shooting Stars proc working like the Warlock Shadow Bolt cd reset (glyph of corruption). For a Lock, if this proc’s while casting Shadow Bolt, you can fire off the next Shadow Bolt immediately at the end of casting. With us, we have to wait for Starsurge to actually hit before the cd is reset.
4) Fixing T11 4pc bonus to apply to a spell on cast (the game knows on cast if it’s going to hit or not – just like NG used to proc at the end of cast and not on hit in Wrath).
5) Better proc rate or redesign of owlkin frenzy. It’s proc’ing in Cata raids, but it could be based on crit / something instead of on taking damage.
