4.0.6 PTR Changes: Death of the (PVP) Moonkin

Sorry I’m late on these changes, and I know a lot of you are already discussing these in the comments.  I’m out in San Diego for the next six months for work and been pretty busy (the beautiful weather also makes it hard for me to want to stay indoors).  As such, I’ve taken a break from raiding and am just taking the time to blog right now.

First, I’ll start with the positive:

  • Worgen/Troll Flight Forms!
  • Typhoon mana cost has been reduced by 50%.

And now, with the final stake in Moonkin PVP, the additional changes were announced:

  • Glyph of Entangling Roots redesigned. It now reduces the cast time of Entangling Roots by 0.2 seconds, rather than making it instant cast.
  • Shapeshifts: Entering or leaving a shapeshift no longer cancels root effects. It continues to cancel movement slowing effects.

I have a feeling the Glyph of Entangling Roots was nerfed due to the heroic Nefarian encounter, but this really breaks ANY kitability that Moonkin have, and again, the Shapeshift nerf I think is aimed at ferals (who are completely overpowered), but totally breaks any survivability Moonkin have.  I really think they need to find ways to nerf resto and feral without breaking the basic tenants of being a druid (polymorph immunity, root snaring immunity, etc).  Those were the ONLY things that balance druids had to rely on.

    Wait they buffed shrooms again and moonkin form now grants 15% damage reduction instead of armor.

    Tthe fix is obviously for feral druids, yet they gave the specialization to resto druids that allows them to continue to shift out of snares. Considering that balance druids have always struggled in pvp, its interesting that they wouldnt give us the same perk.

    I know people like the troll form, but I would have prefered something like a Hawk or an Eagle instead of a bat.:(

    They don’t read anything or think of anything. They shit on the face of the best worst spec in the game, period. I have to work really hard to kite effectively as boomkin and its ONLY because of the edge root gives us. It’s not like the range is farther than anybody elses casting range, so dots and instacasts will still rape us… IT gives us the ONLY edge we have against a select few classes. The glyph rape is a giant foul shit right on my moonkin head. Why blizzard? Why.

    This is just horrible.. I made the switch to feral to balance after the cata changes. All I do is pvp and this is a nice big slap in the face from blizz. It was all going good till I read this. All I have to say is that im not impressed. Once again thank you blizz for making our gaming exp less more exciting.
