MMO-Champion removes Cataclysm content

by on May.12, 2010, under Cataclysm

If you’re a follower of MMO-Champion, you’ll notice that Blizzard has officially request that they cease and desist from posting Cataclysm content.  All Cataclysm content has been removed, and this has currently broken our Alpha talent calculator.

I plan on leaving the current Cataclysm information available on the Nest.  I think we’re small enough to fly under Blizzard’s radar, however if for some reason they too ask me to pull it, I will.

Let’s hope the Friends & Family open finishes quickly and beta begins, so the non-disclosure agreement may be lifted!

I wonder whats the reason behind this. Some wild speculations:
    - People start to wait for cataclysm because they feel like it will be mutch better then WotlK. This means less people will renew their subscribtion.
    - People stop playing WoW because they don’t like the Cataclysm changes.
    - WoW gets to many complaining ‘customers’ (although they treat us like piggy banks) about cataclysm content.

But ehhh …. give me that talent calculator back! I want to drool over the moonkin changes!!!

Friends and Family Alphas have always had a strict Non-Disclosure Policy.

It’s often very hard for programmers to play a game and get a good feel out of it, because theyve been so much inside it. Friends and Family alpha is often the way for them to get an outside look at the game. Its not polished, its full of bugs, its a “clean draft”. They dont want it to go out to public yet cause they dont want to discourage misinformed people (a.k.a. “omg Deathwing’s model so disappointingz”).
I also have that CONSPIRACY THEORY WHERE THEY INTEND TO LEAK THOSE THINGS AND GIVE MMO-CHAMPION ACCESS TO THOSE THINGS SO THEY TEASE US PLAYERS WITH AWESOME DOODADS then remove it to make us buy the game.
