Gripe of the Week #12: Rawr

by on Jan.27, 2010, under Gripe of the Week

Maybe I’m just too lazy to go through all of the options in Rawr after disgust from it’s default settings, however I fail to see how people continue to cite Rawr as a credible source to find upgrades.  I fail to see why it values hit rating so high past cap (or why it values it at all), and why in hell it values haste so high past cap, and why it values MANA PER FIVE AS A SUSTAINABLE DPS TRAIT WHATSOEVER.  Can someone please explain this to me?

It’s pretty simple: Look at the RaidBuffs tab
You need to assign all raid buffs.

    This will solve most problems.

When is MP5 a dps stat? When you run oom. So: Put Fight Length in Advanced tab to a value where you don’t run oom (raid buffs will help here, think of replenishment

Rawr is never as exact as WrathCalcs and I don’t think it can compete nearly with SimCraft. But if you did modify your raid buffs it has a rawr value helping you find good gear.

Ya, those sound like problems of not clicking all the raid buffs (you aren’t hit capped unless you click all the hit raid buffs).

In addition, it values intellect if it thinks you will run OOM.
